I recently got two pairs of embellished flats from Vita Grace and I’m in love. I found them in my Instagram feed and they are quickly becoming my favorite store for super feminine chic pieces. Although I normally prefer to wear heels or sneakers, I do like to have ballet flats in my rotation.

Welcome to Fashion Friday Link-Up No. 2! In case you missed it, here was our first link-up party. The goal of the Fashion Friday Link-Up Party is to connect with and feature women who love fashion. I decided to create a link-up party as a way to celebrate these people and hopefully meet more amazing ladies.

A great womens leather jacket is one of the smartest investments you can make in your wardrobe. It’s not trendy, seasonal, or something you wear once and forget. It’s the layer you reach for again and again.

I think I might have found my new favorite 2014 trend, stripes and florals together.

A chambray button-down shirt is classic and timeless. I like to layer mine over cotton dresses, like I would a cardigan. Chambray has a casual, cool feeling and the lightweight material is perfect for summer.

The pale pink trend is a must-wear color this season. Referred to as blush, rose, ballerina or pastel, this pink color can be a fresh addition to any wardrobe if you choose the pieces that work best for you.

One of my favorite trends for fall is leather accents.

Various shades of green seem to be everywhere in fashion right now, and the fall lines are no exception. You are wrong if you think you are one of those people who can’t wear green.

This season, I’ve been on the search for a black gold bracelets – black leather bracelet with gold accents – which I first fell in love with at Saint Laurent. When I first saw it, I almost lost control and blindly charged it, but I managed to regain my senses. My fiscally savvy-self could not justify the purchase, even though I consider a piece like this completely worthy of the splurge since the iconic brand makes it something of a collector’s piece.

When it comes to shopping for fashion, some people really enjoy the process – browsing stores, strolling through malls, trying things on, etc., while others would skip all of that just to find a good deal. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle. I actually prefer using the internet to find items and then hit the mall to see them in person.

I never really understood the need for sunglasses until I moved to Phoenix back in 2004. With over 300 days of sun and the glare from the desert, they were a must. Now that I live in sunny southern California, I still wear sunglasses every single day, so I don’t mind spending a bit more on a nice pair.

I’ve been leery of wearing shorts since I was in high school and I became self-conscious about my thighs. Like most girls, I have my areas that I prefer to keep covered. But in recent years, I’ve realized that my insecurities about my thighs were unjustified. No, I shouldn’t be rocking the 2013 version of the 90s daisy dukes I avoided back then, but my legs are plenty worthy of a walking short or a mid-thigh length.

I love lace clothing. It doesn’t matter what season, a lace blouse or lace accented dress is always feminine and sophisticated. Those adjectives generally don’t come to mind when I think about shorts. But shorts can be more than just for the gym or lounging around the house.

Summer sunglasses are a must. I lived in Arizona for six years and I learned first-hand just how important it is to wear quality sunglasses. If you’ve been to Arizona, you know that sunglasses are a non-negotiable with that blindingly bright sun most of the year.

When I saw this look, I fell for the classic black and white floral print dress. Black and white is timeless, and as long as the floral print is fairly simple, this dress style could last for years.

Metallics were everywhere on the spring/summer 2014 runways, such as Saint Laurent. Earlier this spring, I shared a gorgeous Saint Laurent gold metallic futuristic dresses in my Oscars fashion post that I would love to own. But if all-over metallic is too much for you, don’t lose hope.

By far, my favorite fashion accessory is a crystal statement necklace. Awhile back, I talked about statement necklaces and why they are so versatile. A chunky or shiny or truly eye-catching necklace is still my go-to accessory because it instantly changes the whole vibe of my outfit.

The thing I look forward to most about fall is getting to break out my boots and light coats. Now that we are back in Phoenix, it may be a few more months before I get to wear my fall short boots. But that’s besides the point.

Military inspired clothing is a mainstay in the fashion world. Nearly every season, you can find touches of military inspiration. Military styles were all over the spring 2015 runways, but you can get this style now.

If you asked me to wear snakeskin or animal print clothing, I’d scoff at you. I just don’t like it (my reasons why are for another post). I don’t like it in clothing, but I do like it in accessories. I am absolutely smitten with snakeskin shoes and handbags.

New Years Eve is one of those special occasions where I think it’s totally acceptable to splurge a little bit on your look. This week’s outfit post is a perfect example of the best resale shops in Phoenix. Almost my entire look for the Gala I attended this past weekend came from resale and consignment shops.

I love floral prints for spring because they are a bright and cheery departure from the darker colors and heavier materials I wear in winter. I’m in love with my black and white tribal print dress. I recently got it on major summer discount for under $10!
