How to Style The Perfect Distressed Jean Jacket

When you find the perfectly distressed jean jacket, you’ve hit the jackpot. A denim jacket is one of the most versatile pieces you should have in your wardrobe. Jean jackets are cool, classic, and can be edgy if you style them correctly.

I remember the first jean jacket I ever bought was in the late 90s and it was from the Gap. It was a dark, solid wash, and I wore it with everything. Moreover, I even broke one of my own fashion rules by wearing it with dark wash jeans. Oh yes, I seriously rocked the Canadian tuxedo!

But on a serious note, a denim jacket can go with almost anything. I enjoy wearing jean jackets over short or long dresses, with colored short or jeans, or even with a different color denim. If you’re wearing a dark blue denim jacket, you can easily style it with white or pink or light blue denim.

I recently found a new distressed denim jacket that I love. It is the perfect medium blue and is a really soft denim. Also, it has some light distressing on the sleeves so it has that lived-in look, without feeling sloppy.

While I was in Florence, we went out early one morning to catch the perfect morning light; I threw on my distressed jean jacket over a bright orange dress and my favorite gladiators. To complete the look I added some bangles and my boho cross-body bag.

I am in love with this look because the jacket helps to make the dress a bit more casual, which was perfect for touring around Florence. If you haven’t been to Italy before, you should know that a lot of the people from there dress really well. Also, it is usually pretty obvious which people are the tourists. With my distressed jean jacket, I felt casual yet put together at the same time. It was a really fun shoot.
