One fall 2015 makeup trend that I can’t help but notice is the resurgence of berry colored lips and nails. It takes me back to the 90s, but I do like the trend every now and then. I’m currently obsessed with the Essie “In The Lobby” color because it feels so appropriate for fall. It is really dark, with almost a blackish undertone, but is still really luscious and rich.

You won’t catch me dressing up for holidays like the 4th of July (read: American flag printed shorts or top). For me, those ultra loud themed-prints feel strange and so dated. But I still like to feel patriotic. I decided to create a super easy patriotic nail art tutorial as a way to show my patriotism without actually looking like a flag.
I’ve tried a lot of creams, gels, lotions and cleansers in my day, everything from La Mer to Walmart brands. Although I don’t doubt that some of the fancier and more expensive options can do wonders for our skin, I have found a few reasonably priced drugstore beauty products that keep my skin clear (expect…
The moment a stylist spins the chair around to reveal your newly coiffed hair in the mirror is one of life’s lesser appreciated emotional crossroads. A good haircut gives you confidence; a bad one can bring you to tears. I recently got the worst haircut of my life. I got absolutely butchered. Gone were six…

Fashion week is here! I didn’t get to attend this year (because I was in South America!), but I still love to browse through the photo galleries online to look at all the pretty clothes and makeup. Many times, runway makeup doesn’t really work for everyday life. It can be too avant-garde or over the top. This year, I found one makeup look I thought was worth reinventing, a two-tone eyeshadow look.

Winter weather can be so tough on our skin. Now that I’m in my mid-30s, I spend a lot more time trying out beauty products to keep my skin looking it’s best. I know a lot of women don’t have time to try out a lot of different products, so I’m sharing my current favorite morning beauty essentials to save you some time.

The changing seasons can be so hard on our skin. It’s even worse here in Phoenix. I constantly feel like my skin is dry and I can’t seem to stay hydrated, despite my best attempts. Although it can be a major challenge, I think I’ve come up with some simple ways to stay hydrated and keep my skin looking it’s best.

Are you in a makeup rut? Personally, I know I am. I tend to stick to my 5-minute no-makeup look most days of the week. I hardly ever throw on lipstick or veer very far from my standard brown eyeshadows. It’s not that I don’t love trying out new makeup – I do! I just don’t take the time to try out new trends that often.

What are your go-to beauty products? A lot of my current favorite products are from my local drugstore. It’s pretty amazing what high-quality and effective products you can find at your local Walgreens. Given all the product testing I’ve done over the years, I figured I should share what I’ve learned so you don’t have to go through trying not-so-great products.

Moving to Boston has its positives, but (for me at least) winter isn’t one of them. I left the cold weather of WI when I was 23 because winter just isn’t my thing. I also don’t like how harsh winter can be on my skin. That’s why I’m taking the Olay Winter Skin Challenge – after just one use of their Moisture Ribbons Plus moisturizing body wash – they promise your skin will be softer and more moisturized.

The late 90s, prepping for the prom, was the last I had fake nails. That was the first and that last time — until last week. Sure, I’ve gotten many a manicure over the years, but adding extensions or fake nails was not something I thought I’d like. Then last week, I went in for a regular gel manicure, but my nails were super short.

One of the best perks of being a blogger is all the free things I get to try. Nearly every week, I receive something in the mail to try out. Skincare and beauty products are by far the most common thing that I receive. I always try out all the products I receive, but they usually underwhelm me. Every now and then, though, a product really blows me away. That’s how I feel about Skinceuticals serums.

If you’d ask me at 30 if I’d ever get botox, I would have said a resounding NO. Why would I want to put a toxin in my face? I like my face. The older I get, the more I realize I should never say never. I personally think women (and men) should be comfortable talking about their choice whether to do cosmetic procedures, so I wanted to share my before and after botox experience with you.

For the longest time, I was adamant that I wouldn’t get lash extensions. I just didn’t really see the point. My lashes are pretty long naturally, and I also use a lash growth product that works very well. Then, I saw my friend Ramona wearing them on our trip to Puerto Vallarta, and I loved how they looked even when she was swimming. Seeing how great her lashes looked on vacation, I decided to get lash extensions for the first time for my trip to Turks and Caicos this week.

I’m normally a red or pink manicure kinda gal. Lately, I’ve been stepping outside of my comfort zone and recently tried a green color. The color is somewhere between army green and forest green nails. It did take me some getting used to, but I actually really loved the whole vibe of the fall green nails. If you’re interested in trying out something new, I’m here to share some green nail ideas you might want to try.

What is your anti-aging skin care routine? As we age, our skin changes. I don’t know about you, but I want it to stay as youthful for as long as possible. The other day, I was looking back at photos from high school (for this TikTok video), and I sat there for a second. I couldn’t believe how much I actually loved my hair. Ok, not the styles, but the quality, the texture, and the shine! It looked so full and healthy. I didn’t realize just how much I missed that hair until I dealt with a lot of hair loss after having my kids. But I think I’ve finally found the secret to hair regrowth for women. Read on to see what I’ve learned.

The beauty world is having a minimalist moment—and short nails are leading the way. While long acrylics have their place, short nails are the go-to choice for anyone who wants something functional, polished, and effortlessly chic. And if you’re into clean, soft-glam styles, princess nails are the ultimate inspo.

It was Friday morning and I was scrolling through Instagram like I usually do. It was any other day, except for the fact that I was prepping for a nearly 3-week trip to London and Paris for work. As I mindlessly scrolled through Instagram, I stopped short when I saw British Vogue was promoting their Vogue Festival, which was happening the weekend I was set to arrive in London. On the unlikely chance of me being in the worlds’ fashion capital the very weekend I arrived, I just knew I had to attend.

On Friday, I attended California Academy of Sciences SuperNatural Halloween party. Although this was a kids’ party, my colleagues told me I had to come in costume. The last time I dressed up for Halloween was pre-kids and let’s just say, they were not kid-appropriate costumes. Since I had to come up with a last-minute Halloween costume, I settled on an easy cat makeup tutorial I knew I could pull off with only a few beauty products.
