After a workout, I often enjoy a simple protein shake. Usually, I’ll just use almond milk (light, unsweetened vanilla flavor, btw), and a scoop of whey. If I’m feeling extra hungry, I might throw in a tablespoon of peanut butter. Most of the time, this protein shake just serves to tide me over until it’s meal time.

After a long day at work, I hurriedly rush into my kids’ preschool, only to find them covered in slime. I’m tired. It’s been a long day. Now I get to help peel slime off their hands, clothes, arms, so they won’t taint my car with that sticky messy stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I loved playing with slime when I was a kid and I think it’s cool my kids like it too. I just don’t love the clean-up afterward. But they love slime so much, I’ve pulled the 11 coolest slime recipes I could find.

Spring has finally arrived in Boston, and I seriously couldn’t be happier. Baseball season also officially kicked off last week. I’m pretty sad I missed all the Phoenix spring training this year, but hopefully I can get back next spring. With spring and baseball on my mind, I started thinking about how baseball inspires fashion. Well, enter the baseball jacket aka the bomber jacket.

One of the biggest fashion trends for 2018 is dressed-up track pants. I’m pretty excited about this trend because I rocked track pants nonstop back in college. The main difference is that I wore them like pjs, with baggy college sweatshirts and sneakers. The track pants look for 2018 is a lot more elevated an chic.

Confession: I cannot have jars of Nutella in my house. It’s a problem. I just like it too much! So, when the company sent me a couple jars, I knew I had to use them right away. I have another recipe coming up in a couple weeks, but I had to use this other jar immediately.

So I’ve been into headscarves ever since the 6th grade. I can distinctly remember this time where we had to go around the class and write something nice about everyone in the class. Several students wrote that they liked my headscarves.

My kids are such picky eaters, especially my son. I’m constantly looking for new ideas for meals to change it up. These breakfast bruschetta with Nutella® Hazelnut Spread are super easy to make, taste fantastic, and are a fun way to shake up our breakfast routine. Plus, it is so versatile to use with toast, fruit, and yogurt.

In my house, Easter generally centers on my kids, their Easter baskets, and the little Easter egg hunt I always put together for them at our house. I also like to cook a nice meal, which we usually eat in the mid-afternoon. This year, I’m taking Easter up a notch and thinking about the other people in my life who I want to share the Easter spirit with. Even though Easter is usually about the kids, there’s no reason we can’t make it more about our family and friends who we love. With family and friends in mind, I’m sharing some Easter basket ideas for all the people in our lives.

Growing up in Wisconsin, eating cheese was part of my daily diet (good or bad). On a regular basis, my mom would purchase the spreadable cheeses – my favorite was the wine cheese flavor with the cheddar being a close second. I recently had a chance to make a recipe featuring my childhood favorite brand (Kaukauna is only 20 minutes from my hometown), so I came up with this super easy cheddar apple crostini recipe.

I never planned to write this, but it’s time I share my #metoo story. 16 years have passed and I buried it deep down inside of me, more than a decade ago. Only a handful of people know, and I didn’t see a reason not to keep it that way. All of that changed last fall when the Me Too Movement went viral.

How do you celebrate Easter with your family? Brunch is a major Easter tradition in many households and since my family loves breakfast foods, I’m planning to create a whole spread for them. I’ve never made sticky cinnamon buns before, so when I teamed up with Pillsbury™, I was excited to create these sticky cinnamon buns.

Last week, I got the chance to visit Miami for the first time since 2002. In my teens and early 20s, I spent quite a lot of time in South Florida between spring breaks, winter breaks, family trips, and lots of road trips to escape the cold Wisconsin weather. I think I’d been to Florida nearly 20 times by the age of 22.

I’ve been a major fan of t-shirt dresses ever since my trip to Italy in 2016. I had two different t-shirt dresses, a black one, and a floral print one. I wore them nonstop on that trip because they are super comfortable, still look put-together, go with everything, and don’t wrinkle.

I have a problem, a photo problem. Are you like me? I want a picture of every moment. Every. Single. Experience. Some people don’t get why I have such an obsession with photos. I’ve always been in love with visual things – art, nature, the sky. Now that we all have cameras in our purses and back pockets, I often feel like I’m bombarding myself with photos, so many of which get lost in the mix of yet another iPhone pic.

Raise your hands if you’re one tired mama. I know My hands are high above my head right now. Despite my best attempts at getting enough sleep, there are still nights where I struggle. Now that my kids are finally out of diapers and completely potty trained, there aren’t many night-time events anymore. That’s been huge for my sleep quality, but there are still nights when one of them has a bad dream or they need to use the potty (and must have me tuck them back in). You know how it goes.

Getting to attend my first New York Fashion Week was such an amazing experience. Even though I didn’t get to go to any of the premier designer shows, I still got to attend quite a few up-and-coming designer shows that were a lot of fun. With the trip behind me, I have an eye on the biggest trends from New York Fashion Week. Here are 7 that stood out to me.

New York is one of my favorite cities. It is such an amazing city for lots of reasons. I love that you can find literally anything you could ever want there. I love getting to experience different cultures. The public transportation is phenomenal. The energy of the city is palpable. There are so many fantastic restaurants. One of the things I love the most, though, are the unexpected sights of New York that you find simply by walking down the street.

When I started Posh in Progress in 2013, I made a list of about 100 things I hoped to accomplish. Near the top of that list was attending New York Fashion Week. Last week, nearly five years later, I was finally able to check that off my list.

Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? We don’t usually do much, besides getting the Valentines ready for the kids’ school friends. Every now and then, I’ll make a Valentine’s Day-inspired dessert. Another way I get my kids involved is by making Valentine art and crafts for preschool kids. My kids are at the age they really love doing arts and crafts. On the weekends, my son often asks me if we can do an activity – which usually entails painting or play dough.

If there was only one item I could bring with me to fashion week, I think it would be one of my best motorcycle jackets. I am obsessed with leather jackets, and specifically motorcycle jackets because they are so versatile! You can literally wear them with anything.
