Winter Fashion

I’ve never owned a winter vest. Honestly, I never thought they worked on my curvy frame. But then, I saw this adorable shearling and plaid one by Adyson Parker, and I had to try it. Given my experience, I assumed other people might want to know more about options and styling tips for winter vests for women, so here goes.

Although I’m still working from home this winter, I couldn’t pass up this gorgeous pearl embellished coat. I found it during the major winter sales at Shein for only $31! The coat is such nice quality and looks so much more expensive than it is. I’m such a fan of the pearl embellishments. Ironically, the dress I’m wearing underneath the coat is actually a two-piece dress set that has a pearl embellished sweater that you wear over the sweater dress.

As a curvy girl, one fashion trend I always avoid is the babydoll dress. They generally just don’t look very good on my figure because they lack shape. Since I have wide hips. babydoll dresses tend to look like a big tent on me. I need dresses that define my waistline, which is why I usually opt for a-line or wrap dresses.

If you follow my fashion posts, you know I’m a major fan of sweater dresses. I post about them quite often, but I definitely still have room for another sweater dress in my closet. I recently got this winter white sweater dress for less than $30 and it’s one of my new favorites. If you still haven’t added sweater dresses to your wardrobe, here are 3 reasons why you should consider an ivory sweater dress.

I’m a major fan of sweater dresses. I love to wear them in the winter time especially. They are the perfect winter dress in LA because they provide just enough warmth for the cooler days when pair with boots and a jacket, while still being versatile for the warmer winter days when paired with flats or sandals. I recently added this cute black and white color block sweater dress to my roster, and I’m loving the fit and cute off-the-shoulder detail.

For the past two years, I’ve been living in sweatshirts and sweatpants. I finally bought myself some new jeans and a few sweaters to up my casual game, just a bit. Every now and then, I also need to dress up for work. Although I don’t have to get super dressy, I want to look put together. I recently found these great comfy work pants and also bought a few sweaters, including this cute emerald green sweetheart neckline sweater.

It’s felt like summer in LA the last two weeks, but we are going back to cooler temperatures this week and I’m thankful. I can’t lie, I do love winter coat weather, but only a little bit of it. I love that I can throw on a cute coat, like this long teddy coat on cooler nights. I’ve added quite a few winter coats this year because I’ve found so many affordable ones that are also super stylish.

I recently got a new Shein haul (gifted). It was so funny when my package arrived because I think 5 of the 8 pieces I picked were black and white. There is something so classic about the color combination that you can’t go wrong. Plus, it is always in style. When I saw this belted cardigan, I actually wasn’t planning to wear it as a dress.

Most of the time, I share dressier looks. I love to dress up, but honestly, I hardly ever get to wear dressy clothes. I work from home most of the time, so I rarely need to wear my business professional or even business casual clothes. On the weekends, even if I’m going out with friends, I usually opt for jeans and a leather jacket. On a rare occasion, I’ll break out a fancier dress. But, most of the time, I’m rocking casual mom outfits, like this one.

Are you a sweater person? Would you ever rock a half zip sweater? I tend to prefer sweatshirts over sweaters for a lot of reasons. Mostly, I got stuck on wearing cropped sweatshirts a couple of years ago, and it’s still my go-to look most days. There are so many cute cropped sweatshirts, but rarely do I find sweaters I like. Sweaters often feel really bulky and less cozy to me.

I bought this neon floral bubble coat to bring with me to NYFW, but then I decided not to attend this year. Believe it or not, mornings and evenings in LA can get cold enough when you need a warm bubble jacket like this. I absolutely love this jacket for several reasons, the print being the number one reason. I think the floral pattern is so fun. It gives a nod to spring while still being the perfect winter jacket.

The lace insert dress is a perfect example of a timeless classic that has graced runways and wardrobes for decades. Its delicate and intricate design adds a touch of femininity and sophistication to any wardrobe, making it a must-have for fashion enthusiasts. In this blog post, I’ll share the newest lace insert dresses and lace cut out dresses.

I’ve always avoided jumpsuits. They hardly ever were flattering on my figure. Most often, my torso was too long so they would fit all wrong. But after years of avoiding them, I found one that finally flatters my figure. Ironically, it combines another fashion trend I have often avoided – wide leg pants.

Every year in January, I realize I don’t really own the right types of coats to live in LA. The weather in LA is normally so mild, that I rarely need anything more than a sweater or maybe a denim jacket. But in December through February, it can become deceptively cold-feeling, even if it’s in the 60s.

A black pleather dress offers style and versatility, making it a fantastic addition to any wardrobe. Pleather, a synthetic alternative to real leather, mimics its look and feel without using animal products. It’s cheaper and easier to care for. I recently found the perfect black pleather dress. So, I wanted to share some history about pleather and also styling tips to make a pleather dress a wardrobe staple.

In the world of fashion, some pieces effortlessly stand the test of time, seamlessly transitioning from season to season with their timeless appeal and versatility. Among these wardrobe essentials, the long knit cardigan reigns supreme. Combining comfort, style, and functionality, the long knit cardigan is a must-have for every woman’s closet.

When the temperature drops, finding a coat that’s warm, comfortable, and still stylish can feel impossible. Enter the robe coat, the ultimate mix of cozy and practical. This isn’t the kind of coat you buy just to look good in photos; it’s one you’ll actually reach for every day because it feels like wearing your…

There’s a new power piece taking over fall and winter wardrobes, the sheer sweater dress. It’s effortless, subtly sexy, and surprisingly wearable. It combines two unexpected elements: the comfort of a classic knit and the elevated appeal of sheer fabric. It’s the kind of styling balance I always look for, something practical and polished.

When it comes to dresses that make a statement, without feeling over the top, the bow dress is having a major moment. It’s feminine, effortless, and instantly elevates your look with just one detail: the dress bow. Whether it’s a big bow dress in the front, a sleek bow in the back, or a delicate tie at the waist, dresses with bows are everywhere right now, from red carpets to weddings to everyday brunch dates.

If you are looking for a coat that feels luxurious, keeps you warm, and instantly elevates any outfit, a women’s wool trench coat is the perfect choice. This style is elegant, structured, and ideal for cooler weather. Whether you choose a black trench coat, a black wool coat, or a long black trench coat, this wardrobe staple creates a polished and timeless look that works for both day and night.

A floral midi dress might sound like a warm weather staple, but it is one of the most versatile pieces you can wear year round. I wore this dress on New Year’s Eve, and it quickly became one of those pieces I kept reaching for again and again. It works just as well for a winter wedding, a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, or even a dressy daytime event when styled the right way.

For years, brown and black outfits were treated like a fashion mistake. I remember hearing that rule growing up and believing it for far too long. Somewhere along the way, style rules shifted, and thankfully, this one did too. A brown and black outfit is now one of the most polished, modern combinations you can wear.

One of the things that have been a challenge during the pandemic is my kids’ lack of access to youth sports. Although we’ve found ways to incorporate sports into their daily lives, we’ve definitely missed team sports. Thankfully, we have a lot of memories from our past sports experiences and have even found ways to keep in touch with our past coaches and families. Now that we are back in sports this spring, we are excited to start building new relationships and friendships. Even during the break from our sports seasons, we’ve been able to keep in touch using the Spond app, which is perfect for youth sports team management.
