This is my first summer back in Phoenix after a five-year hiatus. I recently realized my standard work outfit that worked great in California – even in summer – just won’t work in Phoenix. Looking more closely at my wardrobe, I own way too many fall and spring-friendly cropped pants and blouses and not nearly enough summery dresses.

Winter accessories for women have more style and panache than ever. A knit hat is no longer just a knit hat, but features rhinestones, gems or interesting prints. I’m not a huge skirt person. I just recently decided I can wear pencil skirts, after years of avoiding them. The same goes for a maxi skirt. I’ve worn maxi dresses every now and then, but I generally stick to knee-length or midi-length skirts or dresses because I find them more flattering on my figure.

Clearly from the headline, I have a current obsession with red purses. I realized, I mostly just own black purses, with a few other neutral purses thrown in. I have two grey purses, two white purses, maybe 10 black purses, and a few other colored clutches. But I don’t have any red purses! I had a red Balenciaga a couple years ago, but I loved it so much, it got worn out.

As I dug through the archives, I was shocked to find I haven’t posted about a denim jacket since 2015 when I came back from Italy! It’s shocking to me, because in my wardrobe, denim jackets are a staple. Right before quarantine started, I found this tie dye denim jacket, and I’m so glad I have it in my jacket collection.
