White House Black Market

The high contrast, black and white trend for this spring is easily my favorite. Vogue featured black and white checks seen on the runways at Balmain, Ralph Lauren and Rodarte. While Harper’s Bazaar showcased the sportier side of black and white on the runways at Narciso Rodriguez and Rag and Bone, among others.

Probably my current favorite trend is track pants. You can find them in all sorts of prints, patterns and textures, like those used in this sequin track pants look. I’m so in love with this trend because the track pants I’ve been wearing look lux, are dressy enough for work, but are super comfortable without looking sloppy.

Have you noticed there are two colors – periwinkle blue and rose pink – dominating fashion lately? That’s probably because they are the Pantone colors of 2016. I previously discussed rose quartz, which I actually have been wearing a lot lately, but this is the first time I’m trying out the serenity color in this periwinkle dress.

My favorite fall color trend is burgundy. I love burgundy because the jewel tone is so flattering on my olive skin tone and I think it works well on a lot of skin types. I’ve seen so many burgundy dresses online and in stores, but my absolute favorite is this a-line dress from White House Black Market (c/o).

Deciding how to dress for Thanksgiving can be chore, but it doesn’t have to be. Thanksgiving is synonymous with family, food, football and passing out on the couch after one-too-many slices of turkey, but there is no reason you can’t be stylish and fashionable even if you’re having a more low-key celebration.

I love holiday parties because they gave me an excuse to wear a glittery, shimmery, ultra feminine dress. I hardly ever suggest buying clothes that aren’t versatile, but holiday party dresses do not apply. This is the one time of year where I think it’s totally OK to buy a dress you might only wear once or twice because it’s the holidays.
