You Need to See These Super Cute Women’s Kimonos for Fall

Have you seen all the women’s kimonos in stores this fall? At first, I was a bit unsure of this trend. Yes, all the super fashion-forward fashion bloggers were rocking them, but could I? I was uncertain for two reasons. First, I’m not stick straight or thin. I’m a curvy girl with fuller and wider hips. I was worried a kimono would overwhelm my frame. I tend to look better in figure-hugging dresses that pull away at the hips. I also tend to wear tighter things on top because I don’t want to add bulk.

The other reason I was so unsure about the kimono is that the longer length made me anxious. I tend to look the best in items that hit at or above my knee. The longer length could have the potential to weigh me down. Despite my hesitation, when I saw one of my favorite Instagram mommies rocking it, I thought it was at least worth a try.

Once the kimono arrived, I tried it on with a dress and with jeans and heels. I opted to style it with jeans because it is such an easy piece to throw on. It also looked super cute with a shorter black dress underneath, if I want to dress up the look. I chose to wear heels with jeans because I wanted to accentuate the fun detail on the jeans. I do think flat boots, especially with pointy toes, would have worked well too.

This floral kimono is one of my favorite items for fall. I’m also excited that it will function perfectly as a coverup next summer. I’m toying with the idea of adding a belt and styling it more like a dress with black leggings underneath for a more dressed-up look. The versatility of women’s kimonos is what makes them such a fun trend to try for fall.
