New Years Eve

New Years Eve is one of those special occasions where I think it’s totally acceptable to splurge a little bit on your look. You should buy something that makes you feel incredibly special, at least every now and then. If budget is your worry, there are tons of great party dresses out there at reasonable prices.

I love December—full of holiday baking, parties and decorating. I also love the opportunity to buy a flirty and feminine holiday dress for Christmas parties or New Year’s Eve. I generally don’t endorse buying items that aren’t versatile, but I fully support buying one special party dress per year that you can wear to a holiday party (and New Year’s Eve, if you pick wisely).

Have you found your New Year’s Eve outfit yet? If you’re still not sure what you should wear, I’ve pulled some of my favorite New Years Eve looks under $50. Believe it or not, my top and skirt are under $50, combined! Although I do totally support getting a special occasion dress every now and then, I generally don’t like to buy expensive dresses or outfits I’ll only wear once.

When it comes to dresses that make a statement, without feeling over the top, the bow dress is having a major moment. It’s feminine, effortless, and instantly elevates your look with just one detail: the dress bow. Whether it’s a big bow dress in the front, a sleek bow in the back, or a delicate tie at the waist, dresses with bows are everywhere right now, from red carpets to weddings to everyday brunch dates.

I cannot believe it’s almost 2020. I remember the year 2000 so vividly that it’s crazy how quickly those 20 years went. The adage that time goes faster the older you get is so very true. As the new year approaches, I like to revisit the past year and think about all the highs and lows. It can be so humbling to revisit your successes and losses. So here goes. My 2019 year in review.
