The high contrast, black and white trend for this spring is easily my favorite. Vogue featured black and white checks seen on the runways at Balmain, Ralph Lauren and Rodarte. While Harper’s Bazaar showcased the sportier side of black and white on the runways at Narciso Rodriguez and Rag and Bone, among others.
Metallics were everywhere on the spring/summer 2014 runways, such as Saint Laurent. Earlier this spring, I shared a gorgeous Saint Laurent gold metallic futuristic dresses in my Oscars fashion post that I would love to own. But if all-over metallic is too much for you, don’t lose hope.
One of the ways I relax after a long day of work and parenting is to browse internet retailers to see what’s new. When I saw this look that Nordstrom put together, the striking cobalt blue coat immediately caught my eye. I am also impressed with their expert layering.
Heart fashion accessories aren’t just for Valentine’s day. Heart shapes are a fashion staple. I love heart prints, as much on clothes as I do on accessories. Remember those popular J.Crew sweaters with the giant hearts on the chest from a couple years back (Kate Spade makes a cute one now)?

Aimee was kind enough to let us shoot at her gorgeous, newly remodeled home. The moment she opened her large wooden front door, I felt an immense warmth and kindness radiating from Aimee.
I’m in Paris for work this week and I’ve seen several Parisians wearing lace tops and other clothing with lace accents. I noticed these women because they look ultra chic. Plus, lace is one of my favorite textiles. I love clothing with a lace accent because they are so feminine and timeless, which tends to be the direction I take my style.
My favorite spring fashion trend is saddle bag purses. I love their hippie, yet practical vibe. I’m searching for the perfect saddle bag purse to bring with me on my various work trips this summer. The reason I love saddle bag purses is because the cross-body.
Finding a pencil skirt that works for me is a tall order. I usually stick to A-line because they tend to be more flattering on my lower body. Pencil skirts tend to pull in all the wrong places and draw attention where I’d rather not have it.
