apple stampsMost Arizona kids already went back to school last week and my kids’ preschool started today. I’m so glad my kids love their school and they are always happy to go back. As we chatted about school, I decided it would be fun to create a craft symbolic of the back to school season.  Nothing says back to school more than apples, so I created an apple stamps craft using real apples.

apple-stamps-02This is a super easy craft to set up for your kids. My toddlers loved it! All you need is an apple, white paper, and red and green paint. I also gave my kids two paintbrushes, but you could easily just use your fingers to paint on the leaves.

apple-stamps-03I set up their table with paper plates with paint on them and showed them how to dip their apple in the paint to create prints. My son was very hesitant at first, so I showed him how to paint the back of the apple. Once he got the hang of it, he went crazy with making apple stamps. My daughter also loved the activity, but both kids quickly became enthralled with painting the back of their hands and making handprints. My son also loved making stems on the apple stamps I created for him.

I love this apple stamps craft because it is super easy to set up, inexpensive, and fun. This is a great way for kids to experience art with a familiar object like an apple, making art so accessible.

apple-stamps-04Also, cleanup was a breeze. I used washable paint to begin with, so I knew it would come off of my kids’ clothes, table and paint brushes fairly easily. The job was even simpler because I had Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products from Whole Foods Market, making cleanup quick and smelling great. If you haven’t tried Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products before, you’re missing out. They have the best smell and they are chock full of plant-derived ingredients and essential oils.  Unlike most cleaners, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products are free of artificial colors, ammonia, parabens, and phosphates.

apple-stamps-05To clean up the paint on the table, I used the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® Multi Surface Spray in Lemon Verbena scent. With just a few sprays, I was able to get all of the paint off of the table so easily. I was so impressed with just how quickly and easily the spray cleaned the table. It has the yummy lemon verbena smell, so my table was left with a fresh lemon scent. I also love that you can use the spray on multiple surfaces. It worked just as well on my wood table as on my kitchen counter.

apple-stamps-06When it came time to clean the paint off of the brushes, I turned to the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® Dish Soap in Lemon Verbena scent. I know it might sound odd to use dish soap, but I use dish soap for a lot of things, including getting the paint off of these brushes. It only took a little squirt to get all of the paint off the brushes and also the paint off of my hands. The dish soap is so gentle with plant-derived ingredients, but very powerful.  I also loved that my hands kept the clean Lemon Verbena scent for quite awhile.

apple-stamps-01I really enjoy using Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products, and I love that my purchase is helping a great cause. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® is a proud sponsor of the Whole Kids Foundation and is donating $1 for each of the first 25,000 cleaning products purchased between 8/24/16 – 9/13/2016. The Whole Foods Kids Foundation is dedicated to helping kids eat better and enjoy it. The $25,000 investment from Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® will support edible learning gardens and salad bars at schools.
