What Happened to Me at the London Vogue Festival

What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalIt was Friday morning and I was scrolling through Instagram like I usually do.  It was any other day, except for the fact that I was prepping for a nearly 3-week trip to London and Paris for work. As I mindlessly scrolled through Instagram, I stopped short when I saw British Vogue was promoting their Vogue Festival, which was happening the weekend I was set to arrive in London. On the unlikely chance of me being in the worlds’ fashion capital the very weekend I arrived, I just knew I had to attend. What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalThis was the fifth year of the fashion extravaganza. This year’s theme was chosen to recognize and celebrate British Vogue’s 100th year as a publication. Held at the East Albert Lawn in Kensington Gardens and at the Royal Geographic Society, the British Fashion Council called this the largest gathering of fashion talent ever seen in London. What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalMost unexpectedly, the Vogue Festival was an amazing opportunity to for me to pamper myself. Set up throughout the large tented venue there were different makeup, hair, nail and massage counters. I received a really pretty golden manicure done by CND, even with a tiny letter V (which of course is for Vogue, but also my maiden name). What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalI also had my makeup done at Bobbi Brown and now I’m obsessed with their illuminator! I opted not to get my hair done, although Kerastase was doing some really fun braided up-dos. I also received a lovely hand and arm massage at J. Malone. What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalAlthough a lot of the speaker sessions and workshop tickets had long since sold out, I was able to get a Vogue World All-Day pass for Sunday, which allowed me access to all of the beauty tutorials, the Vogue café and gift shop, as well as some pop-up speaker sessions. What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalI was disappointed I didn’t get to attend any of the speaker sessions, but so happy to get to experience this event with such short notice. Confirmed speakers for the Festival included: Kim Kardashian, Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford, and Diane von Furstenberg.  Many other celebrities and fashion designers were also involved. What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalThe event was co-sponsored by Harrods, which provided each attendee with a £50 gift card to spend in their Fashion Lab. What a great excuse for me to check out Harrods while I’m here—I’m sure I’ll find something to spend my new found money on!What Happened to Me at the London Vogue FestivalOverall, I had such a fun time at the Vogue Festival. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was fun hanging out among the fashion elite, checking out some great spring styles in the Vogue styling lab, and getting pampered at J. Malone, CND and Bobbi Brown. I’m so glad I was in London to attend and I hope I have a chance to attend in the future.
